Transition Design Summer School
Applying transition design to service design projects
How might transition design approaches and techniques be applied in Service Design projects? To explore this question, students of the 2022/23 cohort of MA Service Design at University of the Arts London are collaborating with Professor Cameron Tonkinwise of University of Technology Sydney in a Transition Design "summer school" between August and December 2023.
This series of seminars is inspired by concepts such as Trade School and Collaborative Circles, where Cameron is generously offering his time and knowledge without any formal payments, while students offer their major projects as a space for testing and deepening the practice of Transition Design. This effort is student-led and not affiliated with any universities.
In the spirit of mutual benefit and exploring systems outside of capitalism, we open this space to anyone else interested to join us in exploring how Transition Design could be practically applied in Service Design projects.
